Secretary-General of Arab Towns Organization since 2015, His Excellency Engineer Ahmad Hamad Alsubih was born and raised in Kuwait. After receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado in the United States of America, Mr. Alsubih began his career as a construction engineer at the Kuwait Municipality. His career at the Municipality spanned over a period of 30 years, whereby he eventually assumed the position of Director General of the Kuwait Municipality until the year 2016.
Since its birth in 1967, the ATO, which is based in Kuwait City, currently hosts 600 member Arabic cities spread across Arab nations. At the present time, Lebanon itself has 35 member municipalities within the ATO, with the aim of increasing this number after His Excellency’s upcoming visit.
As Secretary-General of the ATO, Mr. Alsubih has been overseeing the organization and planning of numerous successful projects and collaborations that have positively influenced Arab municipalities in the region in terms of economic, social, cultural and environmental matters.
