Cooperation between jeita and jouy-En-josas
Exchange and affinity
Sunday, 25 November, the city of jeita, represented by the president of the municipality, Mr. Walid Baroud, and the French City of jouy-En-Josas, represented by his mayor, Mr. Jacques Bellier, signed a cooperation agreement at the municipality of jeita. Earlier today, a working meeting brought together both Lebanese and French parties to discuss the latest amendments to the official document.
Briefly, the document states that since 2015, at the initiative of yvelines international cooperation and development (Ycid), friendships have been forged between the cities of jeita in Lebanon and jouy-En-Josas in France, Cooperation has thus been established between the two, a cooperation which is called for in short and medium-term projects and actions in the areas of culture, youth, tourism development and sustainable development. The signing of this convention today formalizes this cooperation over a period of two years, renewable by tacit renewal.
As part of the signing of the cooperation convention, the French delegation, which came to Lebanon, includes, in addition to the mayor of jouy-En-Josas, Ms. Marie-Hélène Aubert, Deputy Mayor of the social link, school life, Youth and family, and Vice-President of the yvelines departmental council, Mr. François Brejoux, Deputy Mayor of culture and sustainable development, representative of the city to the twinning committee and Ms. Caroline Campaignolle, chief of staff of the mayor, responsible for communication and cultural and event animation. This is their first visit to Lebanon and they had the opportunity to visit its most famous sites: the cave of jeita obviously and in the first place, but also byblos, the temple of baalback, harissa and downtown Beirut .
The visit of the jovacienne delegation to Lebanon was the last step before the signing of the convention. It was preceded by a visit to jouy-En-Josas by a Lebanese delegation, chaired by Mr. Baroud, who was distinguished by his affinity and family atmosphere. This feeling of family affinity was raised by Mr. Baroud in his speech at the working meeting Sunday, and that Mr. Belliera noted in his turn, in his improvised word on occasion. " in France, he said, we are fascinated by two Mediterranean peoples: the Greeks, the fathers of democracy, and the phoenicians (who) Fascinate us with this quality that they had, to be traders above all, To know how to connect with everyone, and to be essentially eager for peace, by bartering their know-how with neighbouring populations... so what are we looking for in this cooperation agreement? Essentially, an exchange between peoples ".
It's just a start.
And if we go back to the details of the convention, of the exchange precisely, note some of the objectives established: ' to promote the rapprochement of the inhabitants of the two cities so that every citizen can borrow to a friendly people what is likely to enrich Life and thought ", or " develop joint projects that promote the encounters of citizens, young people, elected people, municipal staff, economic and social agents, associative leaders "... and as an exchange process is always In Development and development, since it is primarily about the human factor, this cooperation, which can lead to a twinning day, why not? ", according to Mr. In any case, in any case, as stipulated in the convention, " be open to other partners, including the twin cities of jouy-En-Josas, Bothwell (Scotland) and meckesheim (Germany), subject to The Prior and express agreement of the city of jeita ".
