Chinese delegation, presided by the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Zhang Ming, and composed of the Ambassador of China to Lebanon, Mr Wang Kejin, the Deputy Director-General of the Department of the West Asian and North African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the First Secretary, Mr Wu Xiaofeng, the Deputees of the Director of the Department of the West Asian and North African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Liu Zhengyong and Mr Wang Wenzhong, the translator and Deputy Director of the Department of the West Asian and North African Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Guo Zijian, and the Secretary of the Ambassador of China, Mr Zhang Di, visited the municipality of Baalbeck on Sunday January 8, 2017.
The delegation was welcomed and greeted by the President of the Municipality, General Hussein Lakkis, his Vice President and the members of the municipal council.
A meeting at the municipality was the occasion to enhance the importance of bilateral relations.
The Chinese delegation pointed its interest in developing cultural, economic and social relations with Baalbeck, a gesture which was warmly welcomed by President Lakkis.
The delegation and the Municipal council exchanged gifts before touring the ruins of Baalbeck.
